AIDAN SUGRUE

Game Producer

About Me

I’m a recent graduate of the University of Utah where I received a Master’s degree in Entertainment Arts & Engineering focused on production, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Games. My background is in game development and production, with a particular passion for digital art and animation. I'm seeking an opportunity to launch my career and eager for an opportunity to delve deeper into the games and animation industries.

Who am I as a Producer?

My background includes over five years of experience and education in game development, where I have developed a strong understanding of production pipelines and project management. I have worked on a variety of video game projects, from an alternative control game featured at GDC, to more expansive titles published on Steam and Google Play. Over the course of this time I have served as a producer for several interdisciplinary development teams and have developed a strong ability to organize complex pipelines and prioritize tasks effectively. I have also regularly planned sprints according to production milestones and routinely prepared reports and presentations for public audiences and our stakeholders.

Communication is the keystone of production, without it, a team would crumble. As a producer I pride myself on maintaining clear and open lines of communication amongst my team members. Both communicating amongst the team to avoid or resolve hurdles that arise and communicating on behalf of the team are key to alleviating anxiety and ensuring productivity. In the demanding world of production, we often find ourselves in crucial conversation, regardless of the nature I always want my teammates leaving our meetings feeling more confident about the work ahead.

In addition to communication, planning ahead and adapting to change are the cornerstones of production. As a producer I strive to ensure that I’m always one step ahead of my teams so they always have a clear roadmap to reference. I also seek to clear roadblocks or hinderances that occur before they begin to impact a team’s productivity. Whether it’s an engineer developing a new mechanic or an artist animating a character, I want my teammates focus to be on their own creative process.
